PAT Testing

PAT testing or portable appliance testing is a series of safety checks that should be performed on electrical appliances within a business.  It is designed to protect staff and customers from any common problems with using portable electrical appliances and were introduced as part of the 1989 Electricity at Work Regulations.

Clever Talk offer PAT testing for our customers to help them ensure everything in the business complies with the regulations.  We are a certified PAT testing professional company, so we can check all the appliances in the business and ensure they are to the latest standard to protect everyone and ensure compliance for your company.

PAT testing doesn’t have a set format, but we adhere to the latest recommendations from HSE to ensure that everything is safe to use.  This includes looking for frayed wires, checking the casting around the appliance for damage or signs of coming loose as well as inspecting the actual plugs.  If there are any problems detected with any equipment, we can offer advice whether it can be repaired or if a replacement is needed. 

We will also put stickers on all equipment to show that it has been tested and provide a certificate to keep in the business files dating when the checks were carried out and any recommendations that we made.
